Über die Autorin / über den Autor:Raba'i al-Madhoun was born in al-Majdal, Askalan, in Palestine in 1945 and grew up in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. He moved to London in the 1980s and worked for some of the most prominent Arab-language newspapers. He is currently an editor at the leading Arabic daily, Al-Sharq Al-Awsat. The author of several literary works, The Lady from Tel Aviv was shortlisted for the Independent Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2010 and is his first work to be translated into English.
Elliott Colla is a prominent translator of modern Arabic fiction, including novels by Ibrahim al-Koni, Ibrahim Aslan and Idris Ali. He currently teaches Arabic literature at Georgetown University, Washington, DC.
